v1.0.125 Aug 2026

Shorter documents, and an interview that survives a commit

Intent Documents are now written in points instead of paragraphs. Underneath: three ways the interview silently lost its answers.

Documents were drifting into prose: a tour stop’s “why” had grown from 20 words to 96 on average, and the approach rationale from 44 to 220. Every field is now a list of points, one phrase each, and the size of the change sets how many points a field gets rather than how long they run. On the same repository afterwards, a stop’s “why” came to 17 words a point, and the rationale went from one 179-word paragraph to 12 points.

Breaking for older documents: problem.evolution is gone from the schema, and problem allows no extra fields, so a document that still carries it fails validation. Delete the field. A constraint that killed a design now goes in approach.trials; one that only bounded the work is a requirement, with you named as its source.

The interview kept disappearing

Three defects with one symptom: the author’s next answer landed on a fresh, empty run and came back as unknown questions, with no error anywhere.

  • •A commit rotated the run. The run id included the head commit, and committing the Intent Document is itself a commit, so the correction cycle the guide promises destroyed the interview it was meant to keep. The head is now state on the run, not part of its id.
  • •Submitting deleted the run. So “fix the findings and resubmit” found nothing to resubmit to. A submitted run is now kept, and swept after 7 days untouched.
  • •Two branches off one commit shared a run. Taking the head out of the id left nothing to tell them apart. The id is now the repository, the base commit and the branch.

Also

  • •A space in the repository path hid every session. Claude Code files sessions under a directory name with spaces turned into dashes too; the lookup only replaced slashes, so it found nothing and said nothing. Matching now ignores which characters were replaced.
  • •The two roles read the run directly. Questions and answers used to be copied between them as chat text, 25 to 29 KB a run. get_questions and get_answers read the other half off the run, so only the run id travels.
  • •The Intent Document left the diff it describes. From a branch’s second commit it arrived as a whole-file addition, sorted first, and shifted every hunk id by one.
  • •Point lists render as lists, and requirements and rejected alternatives are shown open instead of folded, in the viewer and the PR description.
  • •The viewer and the schema moved to reviewassist.dev, with www redirecting to it.
